PARTNERSHIP

At national level, the Association is a technical member of: a) Inter-Agency Coordinating Committee (IACC) for tuberculosis control, b) National Food Fortification Alliance (NFA) in Pakistan, and c) National Malaria Technical Committee on policy, implementation and research issues . The Association is also a technical member and Vice chair of the Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) for the Global Fund to Fight Against AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM).

 

The national level partners include: a) National and provincial health programmes including TB Control Programme, Malaria Control Programme, HIV/AIDS Control Programme and Nutrition Programme, (b) National institutions such as Institute of Public Health Lahore, Health Services Academy Islamabad, National Institute for Health Islamabad, Pakistan Medical Research Council etc. (c) Private sector institutions and organizations including Aga Khan Foundation Pakistan, Pakistan Anti-TB Association, Mercy Corpse Pakistan, National Rural Support Programme, The Asia Foundation Pakistan, Micronutrient Initiative etc., (d) Development partners including Department for International Development (DFID), GTZ, World Bank, JICA.

 

The international partners include: (a) Teaching and research institutions including Nuffield Institute for Health UK, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine UK (partner in DFID TB Knowledge Programme), Malaria Consortium UK, Center for International Health University of Bergen (Norway), (b) International technical partners including WHO and IUATLD*, and (c) other developing country programmes and partners including Nepal, Bangladesh, Swaziland and Cameroon. In addition, the Association has a network of national and international associated professionals available to conduct various short-term assignments in their respective specialized fields. Individuals from the Association actively participate in IUATLD scientific activities including: Vice Chair of IUATLD TB Scientific Section, Chair of IUATLD TB Education Working Group, and member of the IUATLD Ethics Advisory Group.
