FIDELIS-IV: Introducing and strengthening DOTS in four districts of Punjab, through public-private partnership.

Coverage: Four districts in the province of Punjab: Jhang, Sahiwal, Khanewal and Sheikhupura

Activities:

  • Enhancing the capacity of the district offices and the facilities to effectively plan, implement and monitor DOTS activities.
  • Supplementing the equipment and material supplies as well as providing training and onsite technical support to the staff delivering TB care at government facilities
  • Orientation and planning workshop and develop District Implementation Plan (DIP) in each district
  • Training of care providers and managers, procurement and logistic support, monitoring and supervision, data management strengthening
  • Screening of TB suspects and initiation of TB case registration
  • Organizing and conducting community mobilization events

Outputs:

  • 84 managers oriented on DOTS and plans prepared for implementing DOTS activities in hospitals
  • 348 doctors trained on case management, 348 Paramedics-1 training as DOTS facilitator and District Lab supervisors trained
  • 83 Laboratory technicians training on AFB microscopy
  • 1500 Lady health workers training on providing treatment support and 75 Paramedics-2 training
  • Lady health workers (1500) training on providing treatment support
  • 43,253 target suspects screened , 4,328 target cases new sputum positive, 1731 limited access and 23,692 cumulative NSP cases detected
