Smoking cessation intervention piloting at primary health care facilities in Punjab (Dec 01, 2009 to Mar 31, 2012) Less than desired level of TB case finding at public facilities; a network of qualified private practitioners in urban settings; engagement for enhanced TB case finding. Districts: 2 selected districts of Punjab. Activities: Initial piloting of smoking cessation intervention at ten selected districts of Punjab. Through public funding; scaling of smoking cessation intervention as a part of non-communicable disease control care package at more than 100 (sub) district hospitals in 36 districts of Punjab. Outputs: More than 150 public health facilities enabled for delivering smoking cessation counseling. Outpatients getting smoking cessation intervention, as per program-endorsed protocols.
